Roof Repair

Owning a building comes with many joys and many burdens!  On the one hand we have the gift of using our building for ministry and the gift of a beautiful worship space.  On the other hand when the roof leaks we have to find the money to fix it.  We are asking for your help to cover the cost of an unexpected roof repair.  

The roof above the sacristy has been leaking!  The sacristy is the room behind the altar where we keep all our altar coverings (called paraments), candle supplies, baptism supplies, speakers and equipment for Jesus & Jazz Worship, music for choir, and communion supplies.  

This is also the room where each week the members of our altar guild prepare the bread and wine/juice for the Sacrament of Holy Communion.  Over the last weeks our church members have had to deal with having a folding chair and large bucket propped in the sink to keep the leak from spraying all over the room!  Imagine trying to wash out a communion chalice having to deal with that!  

Because of our care for our members, the meaningful ministry that happens in the sacristy, and our desire to take good care of our builing, the Executive Team decided that repairing this roof was an essential financial committment.  The cost of repairing this roof is $18,000.
