Every year during the month of June, members of the LGBTQIA2+ community and their allies celebrate Pride. This commemoration brings visibility, healing, and hope to an important group of people who have been marginalized for a very long time.
Our Inclusion Team will be participating in New Orleans PrideFest on June 13th from 5 to 9 PM. Our table will be located on Marigny between Rampart and St. Claude -- right across from the stage and the snowball stand (yum). We are hoping we don't get rained on this time and would love to have you stop by to see us in you're in the area or would like to help.
In addition, we've created an informational video, We hope you will find this video inspiring and hopeful. Click the button below to watch. (Note that after the video was finalized, in addition to the Stonewall Uprising mentioned, we learned about another event, the Compton's Cafeteria Riot, that marked the beginning of transgender activism in 1966. You can learn more about that HERE.)
Further, we have compiled a list of LGBTQIA2+ resources for Christians that you might find helpful. You can access that list by clicking the link under "File Downloads" below.
