The Grace Memorial for Mission Fund has donated $500 to the Manna Foodbank in Asheville, NC. This donation was made possible by the generous contributions of our members to the GMMF. In August and September alone, Grace members gave approximately $900 to the GMMF through Chuck it in the Bucket donations.
Manna is a private, not-for-profit service organization working to end food insecurity in the 16 counties of Western North Carolina, including the Qualla Boundary. MANNA links the food industry to over 200 partner pantries and other human service organizations to get food to thousands of families’ tables. They are a member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization.
The Social Ministry Team decided that the first priority for the victims of Hurricane Helene would be food. The Manna Foodbank is highly recommended and will be able to get to those people in need.
This is the first step taken by the Grace Memorial for Mission Fund. At the end of October more decisions will be made as to the disbursement of additional funds as well as the Chuck it in the Bucket dedicated to Hurricane Disaster Relief.
