Five years ago, TNO leaders began hosting civic academies to understand how New Orleans' power system works – and how we could change it. At the time, many of the solutions we discussed seemed far out of reach.
Today, those ideas are becoming reality. Through years of learning, organizing, and action, TNO leaders have helped bring New Orleans its first community solar farm, a growing network of Community Lighthouses, and the recently approved $27 million Neighborhood Power Plan.
New Orleans is showing the rest of the country how a local community can transform its energy system from the ground up. Now, we're presenting this civic academy to reflect how far we've come – and filming it to share what we've learned with a wider audience.
